Resolutions?

Ecclesiastes 5:5 It is better to say nothing than to make a promise and not keep it.
Every year people make resolutions to not do something for the upcoming year and how "they are going to stick to it". A lot of times you hear how people fail the resolutions they make. How can we make any vow or promise to another person or even God if we can not keep the very vows we make to ourselves? Instead of looking into ourselves and thinking what "we" want we should pray and see where the spirit leads us for the upcoming year.
Lord, let us not lead ourselves with what we resolve for the upcoming year but let you Lord show us how we can approach our year with a new mind and a new heart towards the things of you Lord and nothing other then your will shall be our desires.
Deuteronomy 6:18
Do what is right and good in the LORD’s sight, so all will go well with you. Then you will enter and occupy the good land that the LORD swore to give your ancestors.
So here we are entering into 2012 and with what? who? where? I think about the years I spent bringing in the new year and not even remembering how I got there. In November 2011 I celebrated 4 years of being sober and continue to go strong. So it is with great pleasure I bring in the New Year at Harvest World Outreach with my loving family and friends and get to hear a mighty word from Heaven through our Pastor Joe Coyne. There is no place I would rather bring in the new year then the house of the Lord.

With great prayer and hope I wish you the best of years in 2012
and when it feels things are still the same remember
it is a New Year and whatever God is trying to
show you it is not for you but for
someone else.
Help somebody, love somebody and best of all pray for somebody.

Reflection

Here we are about to enter another year. As I look back I think was 2011 anything I thought it would be? Did it live up to all the expectations I held up for it? Or did it fail miserably to stand up with my standards for it?
I can remember going into 2010 and thinking it was going to be the best year ever we had just had our baby boy and the possibilities were endless or so it seemed at the time. 2010 was one of the hardest years for us as a married couple and as a family. The enemy attacked from East West North and South and we were so blinded but the attacked we forgot to do the most important thing no matter what year it is. Seek God first. What where our confessions were we looking at one thing but standing on our faith to believe for something else. Where we in agreement that season too would pass?
Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you
The answer is no not to the extent of what needed to be. So we got to the end of 2010 and looked at 2011 with cloudy eyes, tear stained faces and heavy hearts. Even though we went into 2011 with no high expectations it turned out to be a year of miracles and the grace of God shining on our lives. How could it be so different after such a difficult year? Did the same God who gave us our year from the pit also give us a year of miracles? God did not give us our bad year we gave it to ourselves by not focusing on the word of God doing things the way we sought to be right and that ended us up in a pit with high walls and no ladder. But as God helped Daniel in a den of lions he helped us as we prayed and sought forgiveness and realized there is only one way to happiness and that is the path of the Lord.
Hebrews 6:12 Then you will not become spiritually dull and indifferent. Instead, you will follow the example of those who are going to inherit God’s promises because of their faith and endurance.
Following the will of God does not mean the road is smooth and has no bumps or issues but it means that through it all the Lord is by you side and guiding you by the holy spirit. If nothing else in 2011 I found a deeper relationship with God and a better understanding of his will for not only my life but my family's life. One of the best things I could ever have done this year was to give Forgiveness. Even if I did not feel it was worthy of giving it was need to move on. God forgave me of my sins and shortcomings and to be more Christ like we must do the same for our fellow brothers and sisters.
Luke 17:4 Even if that person wrongs you seven times a day and each time turns again and asks forgiveness, you must forgive.”
So here we are about to embark on 2012 and I can not help but feel there is more for me in 2012 then I can imagine. I enter the year with a clear heart and a sound mind. Anything that happened in 2011 shall become of the past. I shall be consistent in my relationship with God. I shall exercise and be better to my temple that houses the holy spirit. I will be a virtuous wife Proverbs 31:10-12 NLT. I will be a mother of example. A friend and sister to all who need me.

In 2012 I will work on me and pray about everyone else. It is not my place to judge but my place to pray. My motto for 2012:

Philippians 4:5-8
Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon. Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.

Moving Forward

None of their past sins will be brought up again, for they have done what is just and right, and they will surely live. Ezekiel 33:16 NLT
Why is it we continuously relive our past when it is already forgotten by God himself? We are to live in the will of God and seek him first in all things. This is from the day of salvation we are to be on fire for the things of God yet we continue to live in our past.
Renewing our mind in the word of God daily will help us with this challenge. Also realizing the things we have gone through are meant for good regardless of how bad or dreadful they may have been. Without our test we would not have testimonies
These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.
